Whether you are looking for a henna artist for your wedding, party, or event, you can be assured that you will get great service from the artists at Crimson Art Henna. We operate with the highest levels of professionalism, friendliness and efficiency at all our events. We are able to supply everything we need to ensure you a memorable event, including a portable gazebo, tables, chairs, and an ample supply of booklets to show your guests their choices for henna designs. We also take the time to educate each guest on how henna works and how to take care of it, and we even send them home with a slip of paper or card with our simple after-care instructions on it. We make all of our henna paste from fresh, pure, powdered henna leaves, sugar, lemon, and a touch of essential oils. It is always made the day before the event to ensure fresh paste and a dark stain on you and your guests. The booklets we bring to each event are customized for the audience and type of event. Be assured that each design in them is one that we have practiced and perfected. -Themed Events: We are able to come in plain clothes or authentic Middle Eastern or Indian clothing, depending on your preference and the event type. If you would like we are also able to supply some decorations and music for Indian or Middle Eastern themes. -Henna Lesson Parties: Another option for an event is a Henna Lesson party. In this case, I will supply each guest with their own bottle of henna, a short lesson on how henna works and its history, and a page of simple designs and instructions for how each design is accomplished. Booklets with more complicated designs are also made available for the more adventurous guests. After the brief lesson, the guests are free to try the henna on themselves or their friends, then take the leftover bottle and paste home to practice a little more. Everyone is also given a simple instruction sheet on how to mix paste and where to buy ingredients should they want to practice more, as well the opportunity to get a design or two done by Elizebeth. -Bridal Henna / Mehendi: We will set aside a full two hours to make her beautiful, including both hands and arms, top and bottom, and both feet, with designs created just for the bride. A design consultation prior to the event is free of charge. For large parties (10 or more guests to be henna’d) please request an additional artist. Children's workshops are also available for children under 18 for $25 per student for a two hour class. Please contact us for details. Both private and public classes require a 25% deposit from each student, which is refundable up to two weeks before the class is to be held. The remaining balance is due at the beginning of class. Appointments can be made for our place or yours for a minimum cost of $40, so bring your friends if you would only like a small design. To see how much your design will cost, please check the price list. The typical pay rate is $75 per hour for one artist, which includes set up and break down time. Additional artists cost $55 each per hour. Travel expenses at the current standard rate will also apply if the event is more than 60 miles from Athens, Georgia or Savannah. We work with non-profit organizations for $30 an hour per artist, plus travel expenses. Please call at least a month in advance to arrange the details and book your henna event. A contract will be made at that time which outlines the expectations of the host and the artist, including event time, location, number of artists requested, type and theme of event, anticipated number of guests, number of hours the artist is expected to work, and fees to be paid. Acceptable means of payment include check, money order, cash and credit card (via Paypal). However, please do not send cash in the mail. For private parties, a 25% deposit is required to secure the artist(s) for the date requested. This deposit can be refunded up to 2 weeks before the party. The remaining balance is due at the time of set up on-site. We are located in Athens, Georgia, but will happily travel for events if mileage money and lodging (if necessary) are provided.
