What ingredients do you use?

Our sugar cookies are made with:

Flour, sugar, butter, eggs, and vanilla/imitation almond extracts.

All cookies are nut free.

Depending on the flavor, they may also contain:

Cocoa powder, brown sugar, lemon extract, freeze dried lemon juice, poppy seeds, strawberry extract, dehydrated strawberries, Thai tea flavoring, taro tea flavoring, cardamom, nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, cayenne pepper, molasses, freeze dried decaffeinated coffee, red velvet emulsion, cream cheese emulsion, buttermilk powder, apple cider vinegar, edible mica powder.

Our royal icing is made with pasteurized powdered egg whites, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, lemon extract, and food coloring.

Can you do gluten free?

Yes! Our gluten free cookies are made with Bob's Red Mill 1 to 1 Baking Flour instead of wheat flour. It should be noted, however, that we do not have a gluten free kitchen, and there is a change of cross contamination, no matter how carefully we clean our surfaces and utensils first. If you are at all concerned, we recommend you order cookies from an exclusively gluten-free bakery.

Can you do vegan?

We can also accommodate dairy free, and egg free upon request. We use vegan butter substitute and vegan egg substitute instead of butter and eggs, and we use egg substitute in our vegan royal icing.

Can you do sugar free?

We can make sugar free cookies, but the royal icing will have to have sugar in it.

How about nut free?

All of our cookies are nut free! We do use imitation almond extract in a couple of our recipes, but it is completely free of tree nuts. If you check the box on the order form indicating that the recipient has an allergy to nuts, we will be extra cautious to clean all surfaces and utensils before baking. Do be aware, however, that we do have other nut products in our home kitchen.

How do you price your cookies?

The price of each dozen is based on the expense of the ingredients used and the approximate time it takes to bake, flood, decorate, and package. The least expensive package takes about 2 and a half hours from start to finish, and the most expensive package takes about 5 hours. You can also choose "fancy extras" which will affect the price.

Do you ship?

We do! We'll ship cookies to anywhere in the United States. The package will take from 1 to 5 days to arrive, depending on how far you are from Athens, GA. We use USPS Priority Mail, and you will get a tracking number when we ship the package.

How do you package the cookies?

Whenever feasible, we use as little packaging as possible, and we try to be eco-friendly, as well. By default, we wrap the cookies back to back in food-grade tissue paper, in order to protect the icing. Local orders are usually delivered in simple paper sacks. You can also choose to have the cookies placed individually in biodegradable cellophane, or boxed up in a cardboard box with a windowed top. You can find those options under "Fancy Extras" on the ordering menu.

How long will they last?

If the cookies are kept in their packaging, they will be delicious for up to a month, even at room temperature. Exposed to the air, they will get harder (stale) faster, but they won't be dangerous to eat.
They can also be kept frozen for an indefinite amount of time, so long as they are double wrapped well in zipper-closed bags to keep them from getting freezer-burned. Just be sure to let them thaw completely before enjoying.

What are the gilding and glitter made from?

Both are made from finely-ground, edible mica powder, sugar, and food coloring.
